Pregnancy is an exciting time of change for your body!

Pre-natal & Post-natal Pilates at Bodyworks is a great way to exercise during and after your pregnancy.   We offer Physiotherapy Prenatal Assessment and 10 weeks of Prenatal Pilates classes for $199.

Prenatal Pilates Bodyworks Perth “After having my baby over 10 months ago and not being able to exercise through my pregnancy, going to Bodyworks has been a life changing experience! The care and love that is shown to the babies while you are doing your post-natal session are amazing.” – Amanda.

Pilates strengthens the muscles surrounding your pelvis and spine, to avoid back/pelvic pain and to help give your body the best support during pregnancy, to avoid Postnatal complications such as abdominal separation.

Our new mums get taught specific and targeted Pilates exercises and education to return to full function post pregnancy.

We work on the pelvic floor, abdominal and glute control. You are welcome to bring your baby up to 6 months old or until they are on the move. You can start attending after clearance from your obstetrician, although a minimum of six weeks’ post C section is required.

We require a Rehabilitation Physiotherapist Initial Consultation in order for you to receive private health rebates, as it allows us to customise your Prenatal class and Postnatal recovery.

Barre | Pre & Post Natal

Its important to take the time to let your body heal after birth. Once you are ready to exercise again, Post Natal Barre will help you to tone and strengthen your body using safe and effective low impact exercises. During this class you can strap your baby to you in a baby carrier for an extra workout! This Barre class is modified to suit both Pre Natal and Post Natal women.

*Note – A pelvic floor assessment must be done prior to commencing classes. There will be no baby supervision available for this class.

Bodyworks Post Natal Pilates

Matwork Pilates | Pre & Post Natal

Pilates is an excellent way to strength the muscles surrounding your pelvis and spine to help relieve tension and maintain good posture during pregnancy. From the moment you become pregnant you release a hormone called Relaxin which relaxes the ligaments in your whole body, making it essential that your muscles support your joints to avoid pain and get your ready for the looming labour and imminent baby tasks ahead. Correct control of pelvic floor (not gripping/squeezing) is taught in the classes helping with the daunting aspect of bladder control and labour.

We cannot stress that regular attendance is essential for this class to encourage ongoing support of the tissues surrounding your baby. We suggest continuing your pilates post natal classes as these changes take time to start to normalise and the classes will help you with the physical challenges of motherhood.
